Community Garden has been in full swing since the summer of 2020. With dedicated volunteers bringing many different communities together we were able to grow and harvest over 5 tons of food to share with our community not for profit partners.
Food Recovery Specialist
We spear headed a new community partnership in the summer of 2023. We saw a huge influx of locals dealing with food insecurity. Our volunteers linked up with local community gardeners. Weather it be your small micro gardeners, backyard enthusiast to the larger market garden farmers. We all came together with the same goal. To end food insecurity. Their wonderful donations were distributed to local not for profits one of which being Saint Aidan’s Free Frozen Meal Program.
Fundraising
We had a very fun and successful 2023 fundraising campaign in partnership with Krispy Kreme Donuts and Saint Aidan’s. We successfully sold & distributed 200 dozen donuts. Net proceeds went towards take out containers for the free frozen meal program. We look forward to next years Krispy Kreme Fundraiser. Save the dates. Wednesday July 3rd 2024 and Wednesday July 6th 2024 our goal is to sell 800 dozen donuts in total to help support our local free meal programs.
